Nase: Vanille, Honig, Butterscotch und Malz. Etwas Sahnekaramell und verschiedene Getreidearomen, das Malz zieht sich mit einer klaren Linie durch den Whisky. Dazu eine gewisse Süße mit getrockneten Orangenscheiben.
Gaumen: Malzig mit Zitronenaromen und leichten mineralischen Anklängen. Wirkt etwas cremig und delikat im Mund. Weniger Vanille, mehr Honig und Heidekraut.
Abgang: Mittellang und deutlich intensiver als der Gaumen, wirkt auch viel trockener, mit Malz, Meersalz und Gewürzen.
The distillery is located on the island of Orkney directly on Scapa Flow. Founded in 1885, it has always been in the shadow of the neighbouring distillery Highland Park. The water used at Lingro Nurn is already so peaty that only unpeated malt is used. In 1994, the distillery was shut down for 10 years, but since November 2004 it has been in production again. Only ex-Bourbon barrels are used for storage.
