The Preussische Whiskydestillerie is a distillery in the Uckermark which was founded in 2008 by Cornelia Bohn. They use barley from organic farming and barrels made of German Spessart oak and American white oak.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
