This bottling of an Old Sandhill German Single Malt was produced by The Quaich / Mario Sammler from Neubrandenburg especially for the 20th anniversary (2005-2025). The whisky was distilled in 2019, matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled in 60 bottles in 2024.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
