This bottling of a St. Kilian single malt as an original bottling of a private cask from the distillery was produced as Ambassadors Choice (Mario Rudolf & Dr Heinz Weinberger). The whisky was distilled in 2017/2018, matured in four ex-rum casks and was bottled in 800 bottles in 2022.
The St. Kilian distillery is located in the municipality of Rüdenau and has been producing its single malt whisky there since 2016. The multiple award-winning single malt whisky is distilled according to Scottish tradition and has established an excellent reputation in the whisky world in a short time.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
