This single cask bottling of a 31-year-old Caol Ila single malt was produced by the independent bottler Duncan Taylor for the Silver Seal Whisky Company as a special bottling. The whisky was distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2012 with 256 individually numbered bottles.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
