This bottling of a 7-year-old Caol Ila single malt was produced by the independent bottler A.P. Claxton Ltd. in the Exploration Series. The whisky was distilled in 2013, matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and bottled in 2021.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
