This set consists of 3 bottles of single cask malt whisky from the Blaue Maus whisky distillery: Blaue Maus 03/2009-08/2018 batch no. 5, Krottentaler 02/2010-05/2018 batch no. 1 and Elbe 1 04/2008-08/2018 batch no. 3.
The Blaue Maus distillery is based in the restaurant of the same name in Neuses/Eggolsheim and has been producing single malt whisky since 1983. Traditionally, the whisky is sold as a single cask bottling.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
