This bottling of a blended whisky made from malt & grain whisky from the Mönchguter Hofbrennerei was produced as the 4th bottling under the name Pommerscher Greif. The whisky was distilled in 2011, matured in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and white oak casks and was bottled in 2014 in 2360 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
