This bottling of an 8-year-old Teaninich single malt was produced by the independent bottler Global Whisky Ltd. Glasgow in the Concept 8 series as Release No.4. The whisky was distilled in 2013, matured in 10 ex-bourbon hogsheads and bottled in 2021.
Teaninich is a distillery near Alness, Ross-shire, Scotland, in the Northern Highlands. It was built in 1817, changed hands several times, was extended in 1962 & 1972 and old parts were demolished in 1999. There was no production between 1985 and 1991.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
