This single cask bottling of a Mayers single grain whisky was produced for Mayers Feinste Brände Aachen. The whisky was distilled in 2016, matured in a German oak cask and then in an ex-sherry cask and was bottled in 2020 with 175 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
