This bottling of a Bimber whisky was produced in 2019 as The 1st Release, comes in a very heavy wooden box to open and contains whisky from casks 6, 19, 31, 37 and 38 and thus from the first casks ever filled at the distillery. The whisky matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and was bottled in 2019 in 1000 individually numbered bottles.
England, unlike its northern neighbour Scotland, is not very well known for its whisky, although there were distilleries in London, Liverpool and Bristol until the late 19th century. It was not until the early 2000s that new distilleries began to be built, and since then the production of English whisky has experienced an upswing.
