This bottling of a Münsterland single malt J.B.G was produced as a limited edition by the Joh. B. Geuting distillery in Bocholt. The whisky was distilled in 2011, matured in ex-bourbon barrels, received a finish in two ex-Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled in 2015 with 813 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
