This single cask bottling of a 16-year-old Teaninich single malt by the independent bottler Elixir Distillers was specially produced for Kirsch Import as part of The Single Malts of Scotland series. The whisky was distilled in 2006, matured in an ex-sherry butt and was bottled in 2022 at cask strength in 632 bottles.
Teaninich is a distillery near Alness, Ross-shire, Scotland, in the Northern Highlands. It was built in 1817, changed hands several times, was extended in 1962 & 1972 and old parts were demolished in 1999. There was no production between 1985 and 1991.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
