This bottling of an 8-year-old single malt by the Finch whisky distillery under the name Bullhead Whisky was specially produced for the Wacken Open Air Festival. The whisky matured in three types of cask: American oak, ex-port wine and ex-wine cask.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
