This bottling of a Mayers single malt whisky was produced for Mayers Feinste Brände Aachen. The whisky was distilled in 2018, matured in an oak cask and then in an ex-sherry cask and was bottled in 2021 with 60 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
