This single cask bottling of an Irish single malt whisky was produced by the independent bottler Rolf Kaspar in the Black Corbie series with the name Boyne. The whisky was distilled in 2007, matured in a refill ex-bourbon cask and was bottled at cask strength in 2013 in 250 individually numbered bottles.
Ireland has long played a leading role in the world as a whiskey producer. Not only was whiskey (or whiskey-like) distilled very early (from the 14th century onwards), but the sheer number of distilleries that developed over time (by 1800 there were already over 2000 distilleries) is remarkable.
