This bottling of a Nine Springs whisky was created in 2021 during a joint whisky blending by WhiskyJason, Julia Nourney and The Nine Springs. The whisky was largely matured in ex-Bordeaux casks (hence the name French Fireworks) as well as in fresh American and European oak casks and ex-Bourbon casks.
The No.9 Spirits Manufactory in Worbis can look back on a 150-year-old lineage, which began in 1867 with a beer brewery in Worbis. In the Eichsfeld town with the 9 springs, various spirits are produced, now also single malt and rye whisky. The whisky is produced in two stills (1,500 l and 500 l) and stored in various barrels.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
