This single cask bottling of an 8-year-old Glina single malt from Werder a.d. Havel was produced as a triple wood cask especially for Berlin Bottle. The whisky matured in ex-Marsala, ex-Bordeaux and ex-Kirschwein casks and was bottled at cask strength in 235 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
