This bottling of a single malt from the Spreewälder Feinbrand & Spirituosenfabrik in Schlepzig was produced under the name Sloupisti Whisky Single Malt No.1. The whisky was distilled in 2011 and bottled at cask strength in 2014.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
