This bottling of a St. Kilian single malt as an original distillery bottling was produced to mark the 10th anniversary of St. Kilian. The whisky was distilled in 2017, is very smoky, matured in two ex-rye casks from the Old Watermill Distillery and was bottled at cask strength in 760 bottles in 2022.
The St. Kilian distillery is located in the municipality of Rüdenau and has been producing its single malt whisky there since 2016. The multiple award-winning single malt whisky is distilled according to Scottish tradition and has established an excellent reputation in the whisky world in a short time.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
