This single cask bottling of an Ardbeg as an original bottling of the distillery was produced as one of the rare Ardbeg Single Cask Releases. The whisky was distilled in 1976, matured in an ex-sherry butt and was bottled at cask strength in 2004 with 504 individually numbered bottles.
The packaging was mixed up with the 2005 bottling, the barcode sticker does not match the bottle.

The distillery site is located on the south coast of the island of Islay, very close to Port Ellen. It produces a heavy malt type that has a smoky, peaty, salty and distinctly medicinal impact, reminiscent of the smell of seaweed.
