This bottling of a single malt from the Andreas Vallendar distillery was produced under the name Threeland. The whisky was distilled in 2006 with gently malted barley from the greater region of the border triangle Germany - Luxembourg - France, hence the name of the whisky.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
