This single cask bottling of a 13-year-old Jura single malt was produced by the independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co. in the Old Particular series especially for the Union Jack Whisky Pub Berlin. The whisky was distilled in 2008, matured in an ex-sherry butt and was bottled at cask strength in 2021 with only 304 bottles.
The current distillery is located in Craighouse, was built from 1958 onwards and started operations in 1963. Legally, however, whisky has been distilled on Jura since 1810.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
