This bottling of a Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt is the first batch of a 12-year-old whisky from the distillery, packaged in a wooden box made from a solid piece of oak. A 5cl tasting bottle of the whisky is also included. The whisky was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2015.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
