This bottling is the sixth Signature Edition from St. Kilian. The whisky matured over 3 years in ex-Bourbon casks (25%), ex-Spätburgunder wine casks (30%) and ex-Rye casks (45%).
The St. Kilian distillery is located in the municipality of Rüdenau and has been producing its single malt whisky there since 2016. The multiple award-winning single malt whisky is distilled according to Scottish tradition and has established an excellent reputation in the whisky world in a short time.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
