This bottling of a 15-year-old Mortlach was produced by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail in the Distillery Labels series. As a so-called Licensed Bottling, the bottle receives a label in the design of the original labels of the distillery.
Nase: Zucker, leicht verbranntes Karamell, Sultaninen. Haferflocken und irgendwie eine erdige Note, vielleicht frisch geerntetes Wurzelgemüse. Im Gesamteindruck aber eher süß und fruchtig, vielschichtig.
Gaumen: Mundfüllend, fast schon wie Sirup. Sehr süß, flüssiger Honig mit leichter Würze. Etwas Orange, auch Menthol oder Minze finde ich.
Abgang: Würziger als Nase und Gaumen, sehr trocken. Verdrängt die Süße fast völlig. Wärmend und sehr lang.
