This bottling of a 5-year-old Slyrs single malt was stored at an altitude of 1501m on the summit of Mount Stümpfling. The whisky was distilled in 2014, taken up the mountain by ski lift and bottled in 2019 in 1501 bottles, which are individually numbered and have a stone label.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
